How to Prepare for Your A Large Sauna/Hot tub Delivery

Everything you need to know before your sauna, hot tub, or ice bath arrives

At Roman Oasis, we work with trusted delivery partners to get your order to you safely and on time. Because our products are large and delivered by heavy goods vehicles, a little preparation on your end goes a long way toward making delivery day smooth and stress-free.

Deliveries are made using trucks ranging from 10 to 17 metres long, depending on the size of your order. Vehicles of this size need specific conditions to deliver safely, so we have put together this short guide covering the three key things to check before your delivery date.

Most flatpack deliveries are delivered kerbside and do not require any additional equipment. However, items over 2 metres in length may require extra equipment to unload safely. Please always check the specific product description for your item, or get in touch with us if you are unsure.

Assembled products are always the customer's responsibility to offload, unless otherwise agreed in advance with a member of the Roman Oasis team.

1. Access and Manoeuvring

Make sure the delivery location is accessible for a large truck and that there is enough space for it to turn or reverse safely. The access road needs to be wide enough for both the truck itself and any unloading machinery you plan to use.

Before your delivery date, take a moment to check for:

  • Height obstacles such as gates, arches, low branches, or overhead wires
  • Any traffic restrictions in your area that apply to heavy vehicles
  • Narrow lanes, tight corners, or parking that could block the route in

2. Space for Unloading

The unloading area should be flat, solid, and spacious enough to safely unload and temporarily store your goods. It also needs to give the driver room to open the truck's side boards or remove the tarp safely.

If unloading has to take place on a public road, you will need to arrange the appropriate permits and put safety signage or barriers in place in advance. Please note that the driver is not responsible for finding a suitable unloading area, so this is something to sort out ahead of time.

3. Unloading Equipment

Our delivery service covers transportation of your goods to the specified address only. Unloading and moving items onto your premises are not included in the delivery cost and will need to be arranged by you. The driver's role is limited to transporting the goods; they do not carry out any loading or unloading work.

Please make sure one of the following is arranged and ready on site before the truck arrives:

  • A team of workers able to manually unload the goods, or
  • Suitable lifting equipment, such as a forklift or a crane with the appropriate lifting capacity

Without unloading equipment or workers on site, the truck may experience downtime, which can lead to additional costs.

If any of the conditions above are difficult to meet at your address, it is worth arranging an alternative unloading location in advance, such as an open parking area or a warehouse facility.
